blog 1

Something significant that I learned this week is how to use a Mac and some of the applications that are set up on it. I learned that there are differences between using a Mac and PC, such as files showing up on the desktop as opposed to the toolbar. I also learned that I can get rid of files that are on the desktop by dragging them to the trash. I learned how to insert a picture on a letter and I learned that black arrows appear to show which applications are open. I learned how to close an application by clicking on the name of it and then clicking quit. All of those things are significant because they help me to be able to use the Mac, and knowing how to use the Mac will be helpful in class. I learned that using the Mac was not as difficult as I thought it would be. I felt more at ease with the Mac after being able to use it to going online, look up the course, and type the business letter. I also felt more at ease with the Mac after finding out how to log out from it. I learned that Mac's do not get viruses and that they are used in 70% of San Diego county's schools. I was surprised by that because Mac's are more expensive than PC's and because I do not remember the schools that I visited having them. I also learned how to make a snapshot on the Mac which we will be tested on in the future.
